Patricia established Linville Law, LLC after 25 years as a senior partner at Kottke & Brantz, LLC.  Her legal experience includes her current practice, previously serving as the prosecuting attorney for child support enforcement in Boulder County, and time spent as a paralegal at the Denver law firm of Sherman & Howard.  As a paralegal, Patricia specialized in employee benefit plans.  Her real estate experience includes having previously worked as a Qualified Intermediary for 1031 Exchange clients, legal establishment of HOA’s, and assisting clients with real estate transactions.  From 1978 to 1990 she was the Clerk of the District and County Courts in the 20th Judicial District (Boulder County) where she was responsible for the administrative activities of those Courts.

Patricia Linville is an experienced family law attorney, specially trained in Collaborative Divorce Law.  She has been representing divorce clients for over 27 years.  She has a superior understanding of the law that governs divorce, but at the same time she understands the emotions, such as fear and sadness, and the distrust, guilt, and anger that people often feel at that time in their lives.

Patricia feels that many couples can benefit by choosing the Collaborative Law process, in which those feelings are acknowledged, instead of the litigation process, in which those feelings are generally not acknowledged.  The Collaborative Law process is for divorcing couples who want to end their marriage as amicably as possible and who want to make their own decisions with the help of legal counsel instead of leaving that decision-making in the hands of a judge.  It involves a team approach to making the decisions necessary for the Court to enter a decree of divorce.  The team is made up of the parties, their attorneys,  and  professionals who work toward a fair outcome for each party that takes into account the best interests of their children.
